Miss Utah 2021
Last June, my life flipped upside-down when I won the 2021 Miss Utah scholarship competition. Miss Utah is a state preliminary to the Miss America organization, a 100-year-old organization dedicated to preparing great women for the world and preparing the world for great women. Earning the job of Miss Utah means that I get to devote a year of full-time service to my state and compete at the 100th anniversary Miss America competition. The social impact initiative I’ll be promoting is Rise for Refugees, a social movement advocating for the needs of the approximately 25 million refugees around the globe.
Utah is home to approximately 60,000 refugees, and it’s my privilege to work alongside various state agencies and organizations this year to support the refugee community however I can throughout my year of service.

For 100 years, Miss America has been a symbol of the developing role of women in society. What started as a “bathing beauties” contest has evolved into one of the world’s largest providers of scholarship money to young women. The Miss America stage has launched countless careers, providing an unprecedented platform for young women to share their opinions, achievements and political views with a national audience.
In it’s centennial year, Miss America remains one of the nation’s leading achievement programs. The job of Miss America involves public speaking, social advocacy, and leadership, as Miss America acts as both a national role model and organizational leader to the network of thousands of young competitors around the country. Miss Utah is a state preliminary competition, and the Miss Utah titleholder spends devoted full-time to public service. In December, I’ll have the pleasure of competing alongside 49 other dynamic state titleholders for the job of Miss America.
